Naked! (well, almost)

Seth has recently been quite the challenge to dress lately. He won't stay on his back and twists all around, making it next to impossible to dress him. So, one day when he was doing that, I decided to just let him crawl around just in his diaper to get rid of excess energy so hopefully I could dress him later properly. It seemed to work, and he liked being just in his diaper for a bit.

'course we left the socks on. Not that they are hard to get on, but that's just how it worked out.

Blackberries!

I introduced Seth to blackberries the other day. What a mess!!!! I did not know he would make such a mess, but here are the pictures. Once he got started I just let him go at it. He did like the blackberries but he sure liked to play with them too!

He had a great time playing with something that he could squish all over his tray. Thankfully he was not wearing a long sleeved shirt, I would have had an even bigger mess to clean up!

New toy

One of Seth's new birthday gifts was a sandbox set. It is very cool with a couple different molds for making sand castles as well as a bucket, sifter thing, and a scoop. Seth is having fun playing with them inside right now, but I'm sure will have lots of fun playing with them outside too. Now we have to get a sandbox...
Seth thinks they are pretty cool, from his facial expression in this picture. More pictures to come on this topic in the future I'm sure.

Birthday Boy

Seth is officially 1 year old!! I can't believe how fast the time goes. We had a little party with some friends Sunday.

This is when we first gave Seth his cake. We blew out his candle for him because he was going to touch it with his fingers. That would have most likely created tears, so we just did it for him.
A picture of just the cake before all the destruction occurred. The cake itself turned out pretty well, I was surprised as I am not very good at making birthday cakes!

Seth is getting a little frosting on him, and smashing the cake. I think he likes how it feels on his fingers. I don't think he got much in his mouth though.

Jason had to watch carefully so Seth wouldn't dump the whole think on the floor, which almost happened a few times!! Seth likes to push things out of his way lately. Eventually, Jason just dumped the rest of the cake on Seth's tray and let him go at it. It sure looked like alot of fun and I think Seth had a good time too.

Snow

We got a few inches of snow last week and I couldn't wait for Seth to feel what snow is like. So, I sat him on the stoop of our patio and let him hold a couple chunks of snow. He was quite surprised I think that it was so cold and quickly started shaking!! It was pretty neat to see, but I think next time, we'll have to give him his mittens!!

What is this? I've never felt something quite like this before...

I think this was about the point he started shaking and it wasn't fun anymore. I'm sure next winter he will have more fun sledding, etc. Since we are expecting more snow this weekend, I may take Seth out again to experience it more.

The box

I was cleaning out my craft room this week and got rid of a couple empty boxes. Seth loves to play with boxes, so I kept one down here for that purpose. He has since become braver by crawling inside the box to get toys we throw in there for him. He really has next to no fear!!
What does this do? He is concentrating quite a bit on this picture.
Where did Twilight go? The green blanket is usually where Twilight lays and spends a great deal of time sleeping.

Peek a boo!!! Seth is really good at that game.

I at first put Seth inside the box because I wanted to see if he would stand up inside there hanging on to the sides. He was not quite that brave. But, he enjoyed being inside there for a bit anyway. He discovered the flap inside the box and had fun trying to pull it out! He is into ripping things lately, so this comes as no surprise he'd try to do it with this as well.

It was a huge mess for awhile, but I did managed to clean the craft room totally out and get everything vacuumed. It looks tremendously better, but there will need to be more organization in place for things to stay looking nicer in the future.
