Books, anyone??

We have started reading books to Seth upon the recommendation of several friends. It is fun to see pictures of how Seth reacts to reading, so I thought I'd put some of those on here. He is sometimes not so interested, but usually likes to at least look at the pictures.

Dad is really getting "into" it!

Hopefully Seth will continue to enjoy being read to. I enjoy doing it myself. I haven't been able to find very many "little" kids books at our library, I may need to go to a different one to find more. Some libraries still do the kids story hour during the summer, so we will look forward to that.

Baby food pictures

Here are a few baby food pictures. Some are pretty cute if I may say so...

Seth is doing quite well with all the food adjustments. He likes lots of sweet potatoes and pears, he also likes peaches, applesauce, and his cereal. Just in the last couple days I think Seth has finally "got it" so that he realizes that this food actually fills his tummy up better than just milk does. So, he has really eaten quite a bit of sweet potatoes and pears. I have to try squash yet. I also have tried carrots and bananas, but Seth doesn't like those as well. He makes some funny faces when I feed him either of those. I'll just take it slower with those. I wish some days I could give him more variety, but don't want to start on the green vegies yet.

Visitors

My sister and her family visited us this past weekend while on their way to Estes Park. Bronwyn, their 5 year old took right to Seth, and held him very nicely, even though Seth is quite the chunk right now. Here are a few pictures of them together. The visit was good but too short to really get caught up. But, we all had a good time anyway.

Bath time

Seth likes his baths very much and we took a picture that I could not resist sharing. When we first get him wet all over, he usually has this face. He likes it, but it's not a face that you might normally associate with pleasure. Anyway, I had to share this one, it's a favorite of mine!

4 Months Old

Well, Monday was Seth's 4 month birthday. I cannot believe how much he has grown in that amount of time. Today, we had his 4 month checkup. Seth weighs 16 lbs and 6 oz, and is 26.5 inches long!!! Now I know why my back aches sometimes when I am carrying him! We continue to be thankful for the gift of Seth and hope he continues to grow healthy and well. Seth is a very happy baby right now and is starting more and more to learn that his hands and toes are all connected to his body. It is fun to watch him look at his hands and have a confused look on his face. Are those mine?? Can I get those to my mouth? Very precious.

New toys

We got a new toy from grandpa and grandma last week. It is similar to a Baby Einstein, but just not as new. Seth likes his Baby Einstein, but also this new "swingset" as Jason calls it. He can really swat at things like you see here.
He also has an exersaucer that we got from one of Jason's friends at work. He didn't like it the first time we tried to put him in it, but I think he was too little. Now, he can do all sorts of things in there, even though he doesn't turn himself around to do all of the things on there yet. That will come I'm sure. There is alot of neat stuff on there for him to explore and he seems to be concentrating quite a bit on this picture.

Yummy cereal!

A couple weeks ago I tried to give Seth rice cereal for the first time. He kind of made a little funny face the first time, but not bad. I know he likes it alot now because every time I get ready to feed him his cereal he gets all excited. One added benefit of couse is that Seth sleeps better at night now. I am giving him cereal just in the evening for now. But, that may change soon because I have noticed lately that he just really eats alot in the AM, so I may start him on it in the AM too. Look for more pictures on this topic in the future, as I'm sure we'll have many more with baby food that are humerous.

One Sunday evening in July, we went to good friends of ours, Adrian and her son Brandon's house for dinner. It was hot during the day but after the sun went down it was very pleasant on her patio. Adrian is quite the cook, and we had a wonderful dinner. As it had been a long day for Seth, we didn't stay as long as I would have liked, but we still had a good time with them. They had not seen Seth yet and were quite surprised at how big he already was!!

Here are some other pictures of Seth's 3rd month. He is never still for long (except when he's sleeping), his arms and legs are constantly moving all around. It is sometimes hard to keep up now, wonder how it will be when he starts to crawl??

I just introduced Seth to TipTop his stuffed giraffe. I have loved him ever since I got him at a shower in February. He seems to like him too. He loves to chew on TipTop's ears. I'm sure they'll soon be best buds.
