Seth and dad

Seth had quite a difficult time yesterday afternoon and evening. He was out of sorts and dad tried to get him to lighten up a little. I think it worked because Seth was really getting "into it" with dad.

The giggles were priceless to hear and I think it just got Seth's mind off of whatever was troubling him for a little while. Way to go, dad!!

Playing with Grandpa

Seth liked playing with Grandpa on the floor with a toy they had. Seth had never seen the toy, but was game to try it and see what it was all about. Here, Grandpa is "helping" Seth play with this different toy.
I'm not too sure about this, grandpa, but if you say so....

Home again and happy about it!

Yesterday, Seth was in just a really good mood when we were getting ready to leave for church. He was sitting on Jason's lap so nicely and just cooing and smiling I had to get some pictures. We are glad we have such a happy guy and hope he stays that way!!

This seems to be Seth's "pose". He loves to chew on his fingers and we can't usually prevent that in pictures recently. It may become his signature pose.

Donuts are great playthings!

Seth got a new toy from Grandma S that we opened the other day too. He did not have anything like this, so it was good he got it for Christmas. It was one of those stackable donut things that has the stand that comes with it. Seth liked playing with the stand quite a bit, but the donuts seem to be just the right size for him right now to chew on, so he likes those too.

And, of course, since the wrapping paper made so much noise, he loved to really crinkle that around quite a bit too!

New bath toys

Seth got some really cool stackable cups from the Moses family that we just had to use in the tub. While at grandma's house we did just that, he had so much fun with those cups. He seems amazed that they can let some water out (because there are different designs on each that let water out much like a strainer) and that can make a waterfall effect on his legs, arms, etc. He had a good time playing with those cups. I'm sure we'll get good use out of them in the future too!

These are pretty cool, and I can hang on to them too! Bath time should be more exciting now for sure!

Cool Christmas wrapping paper!

Well, this Christmas was much different than others we've had in the past years. Seth "opened" his presents with a little help from us, but he was way more interested in the paper than the present. We opened some of his presents at grandpa and grandma's house in IA. It was great fun!
Seth can really rip things apart right now. He is so strong his little arms just move really fast! Of course, everything goes in the mouth at this stage.
Seth is also wearing one of his newer outfits I bought a few weeks ago. It is pretty cool and I liked the colors. I think Seth had fun with the presents, and we have used a few of them already.

Seth with pink eye

A couple weeks ago, I noticed late in the afternoon that Seth's eyes were starting to look quite goopy. I took him out to church that evening for Family Night meal, but then quickly took him back home. Others noticed that his eyes were not looking all that great either. After a quick trip to the Dr. the next morning it was determined that he did have pink eye and we got drops to put in his eyes. I had to take some pictures to show just how bad his eyes looked and how different that made him look. He didn't seem too bothered by it and slept pretty well even during the worst couple days. Within a day the drops took effect and the goopyness cleared up.

He still smiled and was a pretty happy guy during all this. His eyes were sooo pink though.

Thankfully neither Jason nor I seemed to get it for which we are thankful. Hopefully Seth won't get this again, ever.

Laundry, anyone??

Well, Jason babysat for a couple hours last night so I could get out of the house after spending the whole day inside because it was too cold to take Seth out. While Jason did some work, he put Seth in one of our laundry baskets. Seth thought it was the coolest thing ever. I guess he got really excited about being in a new place that was just his size. Here are a couple pictures.
This is pretty cool, dad! I can make noise by hitting the side of the basket. Who needs toys when we have laundry baskets anyway???

Christmas pictures

We recently took some candid Christmas pictures in our home. Our neighbor Joe was more than glad to help us do this. Some turned out better than others. I am sharing some here.
Seth has taken to a new habit lately of putting his fingers in his mouth almost constantly. I think it's because he may be working on teeth.
This was kind of a crazy picture. We did have fun posing for the shots, and Seth was at least in a good mood!!

Thanksgiving pictures

We had Jason's parents and brothers come over for Thanksgiving this year. We certainly have a lot to be thankful for this year especially. Here are some pictures of our time together.

Uncle Steve put Seth in the basket that his toys go in. I don't know why I never thought of that! It was a very cute picture, and Seth fits nicely in there right now.

There is Uncle Steve with Seth. Pretty cool!

Now, I know this one does not have any other people in it, but I love these overalls and if I don't get a picture soon he won't fit in them anymore.

Seth's Cross-stitch

I had been working on a cross-stitch for Seth since before he was born and I finally got it done, framed, and hung on the wall this weekend!! I am ever so happy it is done and think it turned out pretty good. Here are some pictures, though I'm not sure you'll be able to read all the words.

Nice way to sleep

Here is a picture from today of Seth taking one of his naps. He loves to play with blankets before he falls asleep, and so they end up in all sorts of positions once he is asleep. This one was so cute I had to capture it on the camera.

Here, kitty, kitty!

Well, Seth has really started to notice our cat, Twilight lately. Whenever she comes in his line of view he just gets really excited and makes all sorts of happy sounds. Today, she came very close to him (probably b/c Jason was close by too) and Seth reached out and grabbed her. It is so cute to see Seth look at Twilight and get so excited. I may have quite the job getting Seth to pet her instead of pulling her fur. Twilight doesn't seem to mind so much and has not scratched Seth yet, for which we are glad!
This is a soft thing to touch! I tried to not have Seth grab Twilight's fur and pull, but that didn't always work...

Pictures from today

I decided to get some pictures today just for fun. So, here they are.
This blanket has lots of sentimental value. Seth loves it because the colors are so bright. Today he just reached for it and looked at it so intently, it was pretty cool. It's also pretty soft, so that is an added bonus!
I pulled out this "new" old toy for Seth. It doesn't work as well as I'm sure it did when it was new, but it works nevertheless.
Lately, Seth has taken to rolling over when he's in his crib awake with nothing else to do. He usually does this without too much noise so you don't always know what position you'll find him in when you go to get him. This smile was just so priceless. He is way at the end of his crib and this is the way I found him after one of his naps today. He usually finds a way to get the totally opposite way in his crib as when I put him in. He is also figuring out that when he kicks against the sides of the crib that makes noises he likes, so he has done this quite a bit recently. Sometimes he even falls asleep this way.

Leaves!!

Seth had a lot of fun playing in the leaves Jason raked today. I had alot of fun getting pictures. He wasn't quite sure at first what this all was, but once he knew they were harmless he really got into it. I'm sure we'll find remnants later when he takes his bath even though we tried to get all the leaves off of him and keep them outside!
Hmmm, I'm not too sure of this...
Let me have that!

New toy!

Seth now has a new toy that is bigger than his other toys. There are these four animals that are all very colorful but they are bigger and have wheels on them. They come in this really neat wagon which I didn't get a shot of, but it's pretty cool. Seth was wondering how best to play with them so he was really getting into it. Here are the pictures...

He was very happy for something new to play with, even though this picture doesn't really reflect that! I think those animals are so cute! Makes me wish I was a little kid again...

Playing with dad

The other day, Jason and Seth were playing on the floor. It was so cute how Seth was looking so intently into Jason's face and playing with it I had to take some pictures. It's kind of cool to pull your hair, dad!!

I am sitting, mom!

Well, Seth sat by himself for the longest time today. I put pillows around him so if he did go off to one side he wouldn't hurt himself. But, he didn't end up needing them. This was during quite a frustrating day, so I am glad I got some pictures of it.
I coaxed a smile out of him on this one. But, I may have had to tickle his toes to get one :)

Weekend in Omaha

Last weekend, we went to Omaha to visit the relatives. All of Jason's family (minus Joel's wife and kids) was there, so it was quite the gathering. We had a good time with Sam, Ruth and Ken's 18 mo old son.

The men going for a walk.

Sam, Seth, and Grace, the boys are sitting on grandpa's knees. That is a good place to sit!!

The boys sitting on Jason's knees. Grace again is not far away! Grace loves to babysit the little ones.

Here are Jason's twin brothers with the boys. Grace came from out of nowhere in this picture!

Sam seemed to get into the funniest positions when we were there. Here is one of them. The double stroller worked very nicely to transport both boys.
